Planning your Santorini airport transfer
Santorini's airport is small but the island's roads are narrow. Here is what we recommend to make your arrival smooth.
Santorini (JTR) has one runway and one terminal. Baggage claim opens fifteen minutes after landing, and your driver will be holding a sign with your name just past customs.
The road from the airport runs inland, skirts the eastern villages, and drops you at whichever cliff your hotel sits on. Thirty minutes to Fira, fifty to Oia, and under fifteen if you chose somewhere quieter like Karterados or Messaria.
Plan a single handoff. Your driver helps with bags, waits while you check in if there’s a queue, and won’t leave you until your room is confirmed. That small piece of coordination makes the difference between arriving tired and arriving on holiday.
